FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What is my Optimal Tyre Pressure for my Cooper Tyres?

The optimal tyre pressure for your Cooper tyres depends on the specific model (e.g., passenger tyre, 4WD) and the driving conditions. For standard on-road bitumen driving, inflate passenger tyres to the cold PSI specified on your vehicle's door placard (usually between 32 to 38 PSI).

If I am going offroad what should my Cooper Tyre Pressure be?

If you are using Cooper 4x4 or light truck tyres, off-road conditions require significantly lower pressures to expand the tyre's footprint and avoid punctures:

  • Sand: 18 - 26 PSI
  • Fast/Smooth Gravel: 28 - 32 PSI
  • Slow/Rough Gravel: 24 - 28 PSI
  • Rocky Gravel/Rocks: 22 - 28 PSI
  • General Off-Road: 15 PSI front / 18 PSI rear

Are any Tyres made in Australia?

No domestic tyre manufacturing since 2010, Australia now imports 740,000 tonnes annually – 20 million passenger tyres, 8.5 million truck and bus tyres, and 750,000 off-the-road tyres.

Majority of manufacturers are located in China, USA, India, Germany, and Thailand.

How long does it take to get my Tyres Fitted?

It usually takes around 30 Minutes to 1 hour to fit depending on the number of Tyres you are getting fitted.

How long does a Wheel Alignment take?

Usually around 30 minutes for a small adjustment and up to 1 hour for something a little more complex. For cars such as the newer BMW's and Teslas sometimes take a little longer as we need to remove coverings to get to the mechanics.

We use a Hawkeye Wheel Alignment machine that maintains a database of the latest recommended alignments for a large number of vehicles.

Do we do Truck wheel Alignments?

We only do small trucks and vehicles of a certain size. For the larger trucks and caravans we recommend going to Wagga Truck Wheel Aligners. We can do the smaller Hiace vans as long as they fit on the machine.
